New York City’s oldest and longest-running LGBTQIA+ theater company, TOSOS (Artistic Director Mark Finley), presents LET’S TALK ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE, a new dark comedy about bugs, strangers in the woods, and the unrelenting grasp of guilt, written by Anthony Anello. Sixteen performances will be staged at The Flea Theater, 20 Thomas Street in Tribeca NYC from September 7-28, 2025. A group of friends escape to the Berkshires for a week-long getaway almost a year after their friend Abby’s untimely passing. Despite their efforts to keep their pasts outside the walls of their secluded AirBnB cabin, their grief continues to haunt them until they have no choice but to confront it. Dennis Corsi directs a cast of seven, including Ry Albinus, Evan Clausen, Sadithi De Zilva, Dylan Lesch*, Posie Lewis, Gabriella O’Fallon, and Caroline Portante. *Member, Actors Equity Association.

Charlique is the Associate Director for the NY Premiere of Jordan E. Cooper’s OH HAPPY DAY! at The Public Theater (Directed by Stevie Walker-Webb with Music by Donald Lawrence).

Anya Josephs is a Playground director gearing up to direct an adaptation of THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, which will be staged at a blackbox theatre in NYC in early December. Jully Lee is in THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA by Tennessee Williams at Boston Court Pasadena in the role of Hannah Jelkes (Sept. 11 – Oct. 19). Kathryn Ryan‘s one-act play, WHAT HELP LOOKS LIKE was produced by the Ritz Theatre as part of their 2025 New Play Festival in August. Her short play MIA, MYSELF AND A.I. (developed in response to a PlayGround prompt last season) will be produced in Seoul, South Korea in November.

Alysia Homminga, Playground-NY Directing Apprentice, is directing the new play ELIZABETH by Marissa Alaníz at Center at West Park’s Evolution Festival on Wednesday, September 10 at 7:30pm. ELIZABETH is a recentering of the infamous Elizabeth Short murder (AKA The Black Dahlia) with Elizabeth at the center of the narrative and presented with a majority female/non-binary cast.

Bram Hartman‘s one act play, CONSEQUENCE OF CASTRO, will appear at the Spark Theatre Festival in NYC on September 14th at 2pm. Directed by Playground NY Executive Producer Abigail Rosen and co-starring Playground NY Actor Phillip Pineno and writer Bram Hartman. The play is about Oliver “Billy” Sipple who saved President Gerald Ford from assassination, and was outed as a gay man following the act of bravery. On the last night of Billy’s life, Harvey Milk comes to visit from beyond the grave to help him find closure.

Toby Inoue’s play Owl Calls an Emergency Meeting will be part of Break A Leg Production’s Annual Slam 2025 in New York on Sept 27 at Polaris North Studio 245 West 29th St. 4th Fl. Admission is free. More information found here.
