Danielle E. Moore’s feminist farce-in-verse, “Merely Players,” was selected for Heller Theatre Co.’s Second Sunday Serials reading series. The piece, which was originally written for PlayGround-NY’s January 2024 “Shakespeare Multiverse” prompt, will be presented on Sunday, May 12th at 7PM CST at Studio 308, and also live-streamed on Facebook. Julia Brothers will be doing a workshop on Kidnapping Jane Doe, a new play by David Zheng, directed by Raelle Myrick Hodges on May 22nd at 2:30pm at Theatre Row, Theatre 2. Come watch!
Todd Cerveris has been busy recently in his ‘day job,’ as an actor in two productions: first, in A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE, at Long Wharf Theatre, and then BASKERVILLE, at Alabama Shakespeare Festival. A certain cultural yin and yang, you might say.
Bailey Jordan Garcia has two very exciting project’s coming up. The first is their new full-length “Crazy Jezebels” which is getting a staged reading within PlayGround’s “Festival of New Works” on May 20th at 7pm EST. In addition, their 10-minute play “Thanks for the Mammaries!” (developed at PlayGround-NY) is getting a run at CapitalQ 2024 Theatre Festival this June!
Dana Leslie Goldstein‘s play PROM GOLEM, originally seen last season at PlayGround-NY, will be presented at the Episcopal Actors Theatre in May, directed by Eva Burgess. Dana’s play BARDTOPIA, performed at PlayGround-NY this past season, is a finalist for Red Bull Theater’s Short New Play Festival. Fingers crossed!
Bram Hartman‘s short play, “Vanilla Sees the Sky” will debut at The 20th Annual 10-Minute Play Festival at the Lakeshore Players Theatre, White Bear Lake, MN, May 30 – June 9, 2024. More info here!
