DIRECTORS

NYC-based directors interested in being considered for the Monday Night PlayGround series can submit a resume, brief cover letter and optional link to a performance or staged reading representing their directing style using the link below. DIRECTOR APPLICANTS

DIRECTING APPRENTICESHIPS

PlayGround invites early-career and aspiring directors resident in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, NYC or Chicago to apply for the one-year Directing Apprenticeship program. The deadline to apply is 11:59pm on August 15, 2024. Selections will be announced on or before September 1. Directing apprentices will assist professional directors for 3 rounds of the Monday Night PlayGround staged reading series (90 minutes of rehearsal and a brief tech for each round) and will then have their Monday Night PlayGround directing debut in one of the remaining months.

ACTORS

PlayGround-NY invites NYC-based actors (union or non-union) to submit headshots, resumes and an optional recorded monologue for consideration in our monthly Monday Night PlayGround series. BIPOC, trans/gender non-conforming, Deaf/Hoh, Disabled, Neurodiverse and actors of all ages encouraged.

BOX OFFICE STAFF

PlayGround-NY is looking for part-time volunteer Box Office Staff to run in-person box office and front-of-house for PlayGround-NY’s once-a-month activity at The Producers Club. $50 volunteer per diem per 3-hour shift. Submit cover letter via email to jobsearch@playground-ny.org.


STAGE MANAGERS

PlayGround-NY has openings for stage managers (non-Equity, part-time volunteer with per diem) for the monthly Monday Night PlayGround series (fourth Mondays, October-March) and Best of PlayGround-NY Gala (fourth Monday in April). $75 volunteer per diem per 4-hour shift. INTERNSHIPS

PlayGround-NY, a leading playwright incubator and producer of the Monday Night PlayGround series at The Producers Club, provides unpaid internships in the areas of marketing, public relations, development, producing, and literary management. Internships are personalized to meet the individual’s and organization’s needs and are generally 4 hours per week for 10 weeks online via Zoom.
